We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions. This role is ideal for a proactive individual eager to develop their expertise within a collaborative environment, ensuring financial integrity and providing crucial support for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and bank movements.
2. Maintain and update the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers such as payables and receivables.
3. Assist in preparing monthly cashbooks and reconciliations, especially for bank and petty cash.
4. Generate invoices, process payments, and track collections from property sales or rental income.
5. Prepare and submit monthly Social Security and PAYE tax schedules for timely payments.
6. Maintain organized records of all supporting documentation for audit and tax filing readiness.
7. Support in managing vendor and supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursements.
8. Assist with stock and fixed asset records, especially for construction materials and property assets.
9. Coordinate with the team for monthly reporting, budgeting inputs, and tax compliance.
10. Handle payroll preparation, under supervision, ensuring accurate deductions and compliance.
11. Any other duties assigned by the partners.
Required Experience:
• CAT/AAT qualification (or equivalent) and at least two years' relevant experience, including team supervision.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks or Xero Accounting Software.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, as well as Google Spreadsheets.
